Last year, New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg and seventy-five of fashion’s most influential figures (including Diane Von Furstenberg and Anna Wintour) launched “Fashion NYC 2020” a year long project and brainstorming session to discuss how to keep New York as America’s garment capital
FIT is Launching Free “Mini-MBA” Programs for NYC Designers
One of the Fashion NYC 2020 programs is a partnership with the Fashion Technology Institute of New York, and it’s called the Design Entrepreneurs NYC. WWD reports that Design Entrepreneurs NYC will be a “free, intensive, ‘mini-MBA’ program to teach designers the necessary skills to run a fashion label.”
35 designers will be accepted into the program. Each of them must have a NYC-based business that’s been operating for at least a year.
The deadline to attend is March 31st
