H&M’s used to collaborate with fashion designer. But for the first time, they partnering with a movie. The inspiration source is the American remake of « The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo », a David Fincher thriller based on Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s novel of the same name .
Trish Summerville, the film’s costume designer, worked with H&M to sign a 30 piece collection inspired by the main female movie character, the androgynous cyberpunk hacker « Lisbeth Salander ».
Leather jackets and pants, battled pants, slouchy tees, hoodies all in industrial shades like black, anhtracite, and blood red, as depicted in Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy as well as bickers accessoiries like jewelry and shoes will form the collection.
“Salander’s look is very real and very lived in, with pieces that her character has worn for a long time, like her jackets that act as her armour to shield her from the world. I wanted the collection to have the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge, and I’m pleased with the result. My goal is for women to find pieces in it that they love and then mix them with their own wardrobe to create their own personal style. » Summerville said.
The collection debut exclusively at the boutique Colette in Paris on November 28, with its own dedicated in-store area. The collection will be available from December 14 in Divided departments in around 100 H&M stores worldwide, as well as online.
