Designer Raf Simons Goes Surreal For His First Dior Ad Campaign 

The first Dior ready-to-wear ad campaign under the direction of Raf Simons has surrealist influence of Belgian painter René Magritte. Shot by Willy Vanderperre, another Belgian, and Simon’s long date collaborator, the campaign pictures are far away from the provocative style of John Galliano

No more famous super star top model like Karlie Kloss, who had dominated Dior ready-to-wear campaigns since 2010. In her place are newbie or non well known models Daria Strokous, Anna Martynova, Diane Conterato, Nicole Pollard and Marie Piovesan. The use of lesser-known faces and global minimalism unhinge and split the fashion Dior addicts opinion, since some of them claim the ad is an absolute disaster more suitable for brands like “GAP”, while other claim a stroke of geniusThere is one thing for sure: the campain has already created the buzz!
